Art Competition Awards

Art Competition Awards

A big thank you to all the artists who entered the Art Competition this year and brought so much colour to our waiting area! The awarding of the prizes and certificates to our finalists took place on Friday 24th November at our offices. The awards presentation was well attended by the artists and their family members. The Credit Union Art Competition has been running for 34 years and it is an annual event that we look forward to every year.

The Judge

Our judge this year was Joseph Keys a local artist with works located all around our building. On choosing this year’s finalists he very much made his decisions based on the pieces that showed that the artist enjoyed setting their imagination free! While going through over 80 entries he spoke about the wonderful use of colour by all the artists.

Our Connection With Schools

The Art Competition is a very big part of our connections with local schools along with our School Savers scheme and annual schools quiz. These initiatives and events help St. Michaels to make a connection with children in the community and to introduce them to what the credit union is about. We would like to thank each of the teachers and schools for their continued involvement and in helping make the competition the success it is year after year.

What Next?

Each of the entries that placed first has been passed on to the Cork Credit Union Chapter Level and we wish each of the artists all the best and cross our fingers that they will progress on to the national level. Again we would like to thank the artists but also those who helped them enter the competition their parents and teachers.
